holes in the family
It is always nice when the preist's message is one you can really relate to. Tonight we were celebrating the Feast of the Holy Family. Father spoke how it may be difficult to believe our own families (filled with flaws) could ever remotely resemble the Holy Family.
Upon arriving home, I began putting the baby to bed. I had to interupt his feeding to race to the bathroom to toss my crackers. Between yack 3 and yack 4, I called to hubby who rescued the hysterical baby. After a minute, he called into the bathroom, "Hurry up. I have to feed the kids." As he passed the baby to me he pointed out that I may want to wipe the chunk off my neck before cuddling our baby. Finally, the baby is almost asleep when the smoke alarm goes off.
You see with God's grace, we learn to love the family he has blessed us with. Aim for perfection, but don't forget to love what He has given. After all, a get well kiss from your four year old's pizza covered lips is just as sweet as it gets.
